Preserving the history of an incredible era in music
We all understand the deplorable state of today’s radio industry. Few stations bother with music these days, fewer still play music you’d want to listen to, and the tiny percentage of independent specialty stations that _do_ play music you actually want to hear play the same five or six dozen songs over and over. For this last group, I’ve often lamented, “You have the entire history of rock’n’roll to take advantage of! Why don’t you?” Phil is doing just that for that golden slice running from approximately 1959 through 1971. The shows archived in this podcast do a fine job of presenting the wide sweep and plumbing the mind-blowing depths of the world-wide music phenomenon irruption in those 12-13 years. Cheers to Phil—a labor of love, indeed!

    THE BEST!
I don’t know how Phil Gray (PHIL GRAY) hasn’t run out of obscuro psych punk but I rarely hear something I’ve heard elsewhere. Love it love it!

The best radio show in the history of radios or shows
Phil Grey has put together an amazing program, playing not only tons of my favorite killer old '60s tunes but also constantly digging up new old gems for me to obsess over. I thought I knew a good chunk of garage rock, but boy oh boy, not even the tip of the iceberg compared to this guy. I'm relatively new to the show but already a lifelong fan!

Best Garage Punk Show - In the World!
I’ve been listening to Retrospect for several years and it is definitely the best 60’s garage punk and psychedelic music show I have found anywhere. Coming from Hamilton, New Zealand, Phil Grey plays an amazing set of both well known and also very obscure 60s garage music from bands across the globe. Thanks, Phil, keep up the great work! “The Real Deal’!
This show is great! As a lover of 60’s Garage/Punk I find most other Podcasts/Radio broadcasts claim to be this genre, but are far from it and I’m usually disappointed. This show is the “real deal”!.

Best music podcast and show EVER!
This show is so much fun and different than anything out there. I can’t wait each week to hear what obscure tracks Phil will come up with. My only complaint is that it’s not long enough! That’s why I downloaded all the available shows. My go to listening for any occasion.

    Garage at it’s best
While trying to find shows to satisfy my Garage Rock itch, I found this gem. International flavor the likes of which I’ve never heard before. Very worth the time.

    Awesome!!!!!
This is my favorite podcast. You love those groovy sounds of 60s garage you came to the right place. Adding the international portion to the cast is so cool. I have a few albums from international bands but the broadens my listen!! Thanks
