TeresaRitt93So happy I found this podcastMy husband and I love to travel. Now that we have a young son, we want to take him along for the ride – but purchasing 3 flight tickets at a time can be very cost prohibitive. I’m not completely new to the points and miles game, but I didn’t know how to get those large point balances that really make traveling as a family on a budget feasible. Imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon the “Points for Normal People” podcast. Katie’s episodes are on point, easy to understand, and she leaves excellent resources in the show notes for each episode. One example of something I recently learned is a benefit that will really help us out in a few weeks on Katie’s Capital One Venture X episode (Season 2 Episode 7): Katie explained how we can use miles earned on the card once the minimum spend is hit to reimburse yourself via statement credits for travel costs. We are visiting Disney World this summer so I (after talking it over with my spouse) used Katie’s affiliate link to apply for the Venture X card. Katie explains that one benefit of the card is that you can use your miles to cover travel expenses that you incurred on the card. The travel expenses have to be coded to “travel,” so buying Disney tickets on Undercover Tourst.com will give them this distinction. Check out this episode if you interested! Travel (including Disney) is SO expensive these days and it’s great that people like Katie offer resources to save some money and show you how to gain value from travel credit cards. Keep up the amazing work Katie!

SealBeachBrianTravel Points IN real timeI began following Katie honestly because I enjoyed her happy and informative demeanor! I was also curious and found her way of giving info the most ideal on these social media websites. I ended up staying because of the PODCAST because the amount of information she has collated and organized is honestly - impressive! As an educator, she is well versed in multiple learning styles and employs the best techniques for listener engagement! I honestly appreciate her work ethic in organizing this topic and her ethics/values. You can tell her training in formal education and pedagogy and short cutting long tedious processes into simple, cohesive lessons useful for all times. I find this just a blast and am so grateful for Katie and her team! Well done! The normal folks on the internet are here for you and your method! Keep up the good word!

Meg121102So helpfulI listen to a few points and miles shows, and this is the most helpful if you’re getting started and want to know what your options are for booking flights and hotels. Katie presents the info in such a clear concise way and even gives you action steps. We just got back from a spring break trip to the west coast that we would not have been able to book without her advice. Thank you!!

Cedric the ProductiveOnly points podcast I’ve reviewedKatie, I listen to other podcasts and yours is the only one I listen to repeatedly. I love how you give direct strategies and action steps for playing the points game. This is not my full time hobby so having a direction to go in makes this so much easier. Keep it up, I appreciate it.

newmom182016Makes it simple!Katie‘s title for her channel says it all, she makes points and miles accessible to normal people! I’ve watched travel vloggers years and always seen it as something that I could never actually get into but finding her podcast made me realize otherwise. I’ve now opened my first credit card, the one she recommended, and I’m so happy with everything I’ve gotten out of it so far. If I can do it, you can do it, thank you so much, Katie!

kstevenson28Down to EarthI just started my miles and points journey and I really love this podcast because Katie is realistic and methodical explaining how strategies work and how to book normal vacations and travel. I’d love to do luxury trips someday but I’m happily learning the basics from Katie!

RdposcarStart with Katie!I’ve been trying to understand the points game for over a year. I listened to those “moms” talk a little. And that “guy” too, but I was still feeling confused on the details. I was also feeling so overwhelmed on how to choose my next cards. Then I found Katie, and she just makes it all make sense! And I stopped feeling guilty that I wasn’t anywhere close to a super pricey trip around the world in first class. Instead, I’m now simply saving money on the vacations my family already wanted to take! To date, I’ve saved $3k, and I can attribute half of that to Katie’s guidance in just the 3 months since I’ve started her podcast. She makes it all so much easier to understand. Thank you Katie!

TimChaizeThe Best Place to Start Your Travel Hacking JourneyI started this journey about a year ago, but threw myself into it very quickly. I listened to all sorts of podcasts, read a bunch of blogs, joined social media groups, and more. I would talk with friends or post about our family’s redemptions to try and help others take the first steps. What I found was that I was oftentimes referencing back to Katie’s advice or referring those friends to have a listen. This is truly the best podcast to start with. It’s easy to understand, it’s well laid out even with step-by-step guides, the content is very relevant, and as you advance, there’s additional resources on her site. I’m so glad I found this podcast. Without it, it would’ve taken years to get our family of 6 to Hawaii (for nearly free) and now we can yearly if we choose. Thanks Katie!

Listener0708***TEN STARS*** The BEST Points & Miles PodcastThe absolute best podcast if you want to learn the points and miles game. Katie provides clear and concise information and appeals to the average person. It was so refreshing to find a podcast that didn’t include a bunch of shameless brags and useless banter about business class or point redemptions that are unattainable by the average person. I’ve been able to book 5 trips already using her advice and tools. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

SDEMOSS521Points - Simplified 🙌🏼I am extremely new to the points world and started by following a few different people in the space that had knowledge, but it seemed so complicated to me. I then found this podcast and I’m loving the short episodes with actionable steps! So much easy to learn and feel ok with making my points work for the “normal” travel vs super luxury travel which is what the others seemed to care most about. Thanks again for sharing such valuable information in a digestible way!

sarag2011Super HelpfulI am just getting started with CC points and had read/listened to several different resources before finding Katie and all of her resources. They have been sooo helpful in the learning process. Airgreg2Great Points Podcast for Us Regular PeopleAs the title said, this WAS a great points and miles podcast for normal people but she hasn’t had a show over a month and I think she may have quit? Does it have something to do with all the crackdown on credit card affiliate links? The credit cards are now I listen to several other podcasts, and everyone is going to the Maldives, Amsterdam, Dubai, etc., and they’re all flying in first class single person pods. I will never be able to fly overseas because I can’t afford it and especially not in a first class pod. I want to listen to a podcast that talks about mostly domestic flying and hotels, but at least flying like normal people do. I don’t know how all those other podcasts do it with their constant traveling around the world and they appear not to have a normal job. I work 40 hours a week and will have a modest retirement. I want to save money on travel and this podcast explains things easily and to the point without having to figure out points per mile and just teaches you how to save a money by using credit card points on every day spend AND NOT CARRY A CREDIT CARD BALANCE. Thank you Katie for a great podcast! Katie’s voice is very soothing, and I enjoy listening to her.
-
JrChubaca1Great beginner podcastI really love this podcast and I love how you just make it easy for new users and I will definitely recommend this for anyone that is truly trying to get into the credit card game in the future. I am a moderate advanced user but I am glad that there is something I can recommend to a new person just getting into this game so I appreciate this and keep it going if there is anything else you think of.
-
JwoheadInformative and ConciseAppreciate the content and delivery style. Great info!
-
LbritwahlInformative Bite-sized Chunks!Katie’s podcasts are clear, concise, and delivered in a calm voice. Her resources are straightforward and she doesn’t make beginners feel overwhelmed. I also like how she describes practical and lesser known benefits of credit cards beyond just travel. Lastly, her voice - it’s an even cadence laced with humor and authenticity. She won’t waste your time with gabbing and mindless chatter. I appreciate you, Katie!
-

Family of PageGreat tips for travel!I love discovering the extra benefits of travel credit cards. I have utilized many of the tips Katie shares. Recently got the venture X card which has made the time spent at the airport much more enjoyable by utilizing lounges. We are going for the SW companion pass for the first time, following Katie’s guide. Very excited for many more travels to come.

BH_2009Practical Information for family travelAs a busy mom that mainly travels domestically with my family of 5, I love the practical and useful information. This is the first time I’ve ever left a podcast review. Katie does such a great job explaining things in a concise and easy to understand way. A lot of the information in this space seems focused on business class international travel for individuals and couples. I was struggling to find something focused on domestic economy travel for 5 people and this has been very useful.
-
badgerfamily21This is what I've been looking for!Points for Normal People is exactly what I need to learn the points game. Other podcasts are great for extravagant first class travel, but I have a large family that just wants a nice vacation per year. We also are a typical sports family and need hotels for the summer season. Katie understands that everyone's needs are different and goes more by the "you do you" mentality. I look forward to the podcasts!
-
