The Occurrence in River Oaks

The Occurrence in River Oaks is an all new, entirely voice acted sci-fi horror audio drama from writer/director Nikki Durbin and Rogue Luna Entertainment. Take an original, terrifying journey through one very long day in the titular small town, as heard through the viewpoint of the local law enforcement personnel; specifically, Olivia, the woman running the dispatch radio at the Sheriff’s office, as she tries to hold everything together when her entire world is falling apart. As the several officers under her command come face to face with a very unexpected threat, and as Olivia tries to navigate a dangerous and otherworldly creature’s arrival, everything slowly begins to fall apart over the course of 8 grueling episodes. No one is safe, and as the world becomes very small and extremely dangerous for the characters, they must do everything in their power to protect not only the citizens of River Oaks, but the entire world.

    Sci-fi Horror
Loved it. If Sci-fi Horror is your Fave, then you’ll love this Series. Give it a couple of episodes and you will be all in. With Zero Spoilers coming from me: This was different in a great way. I really enjoyed this AD as it wasn’t typical and there were some surprises. I sure hope there will be a Season 2! PLEASE?

    Cool Old School Sci-fi Vibe!
Very much like this show. It has the feel of an old sci-fi show. And the creature is very creative. Give it a chance! You’ll have fun.

    Wow! Great idea!
This reminds me of War of the Worlds that was first broadcast on radio. What a great idea and really well executed. Can’t wait to listen to all of the episodes! And it seems like others really want a season 2… so it must get even better than the first episode! Can’t wait!

Kudos to a brilliant new show!
Here’s a show with enough story that can definitely sustain a season 2. Hope there is one! A varied cast of characters bring this sci-fi thriller to life, representing the chummy and hard nosed sides of a small town precinct. Great how the story builds, deaths ramp up, and a larger mystery unfolds, too nefarious to contain in one season. As for criticisms, I didn’t quite get the ending of season 1, it seemed a little rushed. But I am definitely chomping at the bit for more. Kudos!

    It’s fantastic but
Love the pod cast but the monsters sounds are way to loud, along with the background noises. It makes me want to turn it off because when I have my headphones in and I’m away from my phone it literally blows my ear drums out. Please fix the volume control on the podcast!

    UPDATE:::::::Great Horror/Drama
Update: Nikki, we need the rest of the story, please bring it on SEASON 2!!!! Lovin this podcast, served 42 years in Law Enforcement, you should get a Cop as an adviser, the nuances your cast is using for cop talk could use a little tune up. But the show is very good, I look forward to the success of this podcast. Heck I might just join the River Oaks Sheriff’s Department, just to help get rid of those monsters!!!!

    Thrilling, Immersive Show
Y’all! This is an exquisite show! The sound design is so immersive and it’s clear that the minds behind this podcast spent a lot of time to make the story have nuance and depth! I am a huge fans!

    The acting is sooo bad.
I want to enjoy the sci-fi fun, but man…. It’s really distracting how bad they are.

    The Things Distance Cousin
The first episode took a min to draw me in but I’m so glad I stuck it out because holy shnikeez! I was getting so many The Thing vibes from this from the jump and then in episode five they straight up used a line of audio from the movie! “Nobody trusts anybody now, we’re all very tired” I literally shed a tear 🥲 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

    I'm intrigued!
Only issue I have is the difference in audio levels. The dialogue level will be fine then suddenly there is a loud screeching. Almost snatched my earbud out. The animal noise was just too loud!

    Hilarious
    The dialogue is great.
