    Love this podcast!
Since I’ve loved listening to the podcast, I decided to go back to the beginning…..hadn’t heard all the previous podcasts. I so relate to both gals. Wish there had been such open topic discussions on the subject when I was in my 20’s- 30’s! (I’m now 61). Look forward to both perspectives on each topic!

    My go-to!
I absolutely love this podcast! Whenever I’m falling back in the diet/restrict/binge headspace, just one episode of LAD brings me right back. It’s such great support for binge/disordered eating recovery and I can relate to what is said so much.

The only one I listen to on this topic
I LOVE this podcast. They are a lifeline at times and have taught me so much personally and professionally. Somehow they cover, explain, and hold ALL the nuance of this very complicated topic. I trust them and love hearing their take on the issues. They are also kinda funny and easy to listen to. :)

    Hope
This podcast gives me so much hope. These lovely ladies are incredibly brilliant, compassionate, and beautiful role models who have gotten me through some dark times in my disordered eating. I am still working at recovery, but they keep me on the path towards a healthy relationship with food and my body, and give me new insights every single week in their brilliant discussions. So very thankful for this podcast and the hope it provides.

I feel hope for the first time
I’ve been struggling with disordered eating for almost 20 years, and have cycled in and out of the recovery space. This podcast and Sarah’s work in particular have been incredible for me over the last few weeks. I am so grateful to both of you, I only wish I lived in the UK!

    Nice Ladies, Worth a Listen!
I feel so fortunate to have found this podcast. I feel seen and heard, and can identify with so much of what you talk about. I went right to episode 1, and now I just finished episode 29, so naturally it was time to write a review. And I just so happen to be visiting the UK at this moment! I love the format of the show; each title just grabs you and both Stephanie and Sarah share their honest perspectives, struggles, triumphs, and insights. It’s like you’re sitting there having a chat with your besties about a common concern, not just doting on the issues or problems, but also trying to come to grips with how to navigate those issues in a workable, livable way. I can’t stop listening! (And yes, Sarah, that’s a nod to your book, which of course I purchased!)

    Nice Ladies
Sarah and Stefanie come across so kindly and warmly on this podcast. They speak on a variety of topics in the anti-diet and ED recovery spaces that don’t seem to repeat themselves even with as many episodes as they have done. Their episodes remind me that recovery is worth continuing to pursue.

    Incredible Authenticity, Wisdom, and Guidance
I cannot shut up about this podcast. I think these two women have so much integrity, authenticity, and wisdom. Their podcast had helped heal things for me long after I’ve considered myself recovered, on a recovery path. Their warmth and knowledge fill my cup on a weekly basis. I am so grateful of and in awe of their work.

Must-Listen for anyone who struggles with food...
Been listening non-stop for the last week. I find such comfort in hearing your voices and the way you explain not only the struggles, but also present the strategies for recovery. When I’m done with all of these I plan to just start at the beginning again. Keep up the great work, and thank you from a truly grateful new fan!

    Fantastic! THANK YOU!!
I can’t believe I found this podcast by googling psychology of over eating and coming up with a YouTube post post by Stephanie. I did that Google search because I had put a lot of effort into finding a therapist online for some issues I had been wanting to work on for a long time, and I kept getting the answer that they did not take my insurance. Fed up with putting time and effort into therapist, who either did not take my insurance, or just completely missed the mark with the therapy they offered for my specific needs I decided to specifically suss out any help I could find by myself and begin there. I have found Stephanie‘s YouTube channel, extremely helpful and a few episodes. I’ve listened to in just a short time of their podcast have been so incredibly insightful— they have imparted more advantageous words of wisdom in two podcasts than I might find in a lifetime of searching for answers with various therapists. Very impressed and I’ll be following their various avenues: instagram, YouTube, podcasts and books…

    Grateful
Thank you ladies for this podcast. I’ve been listening for over a year and it’s helped me so much, by way of validation, relating, giggling, and plenty of ah-ha moments. It’s nice to feel seen, heard, and empowered. Cheers to you both. -Candi

    I feel understood.
Thank you for talking about the different types of hunger. The “stomach hunger” is so much less intense than that primal urge to eat, and I feel like understanding where the urge comes from is the key for me. Understanding triggers is huge, like you have discussed. Tiredness is a big one. Another trigger for me is a long to-do list or looming task that I am on the cusp of undertaking that I am not yet leaning into, if that makes sense. Thank you for this podcast, please keep it going, the combination of your experiences, you’re putting words to so many things that I have experienced. And I think the amount of people experiencing this is only going to grow as (or if) the rest of the world has a cultural shift becoming more like American culture and takes on the baggage we carry about food. But the conversation about intuitive eating is slowly getting out there. May the Lord Jesus bless you both!
  • becominggerri
Finally someone is tackling the hard questions!
I looked and looked for discussion of these topics. No one but these ladies are tackling these hard topics with the utmost care.

    Life changing podcast!
This podcast was the final (and very large) piece in my recovery. I’ve read so many books and listened to so much expert advice, but the way these women talk about this subject made something click in my brain, and I am honestly in awe of how quickly my eating changed after l started listening. Thank you SO much Sarah and Stephanie for this truly life changing content.

    Such great perspectives
I learned of this podcast after finding Sarah’s youtube channel. I loved her message & content since I have struggled on & off with disordered eating that’s taken various forms over the years. The stuff they talk about is all so relatable, so many things they share that resonates so well & make me feel less alone in this struggle. Also hearing of all the behaviors they’d engage in - ones I did (& do) too but have been too ashamed to admit - is so healing. there’s so much hope!

    Makes my days lighter
I love this podcast and the hosts speak about so many aspects of dealing with difficult emotions that it’s the only podcast I’d listen to an episode more than once, just so I can really work on myself. Oftentimes I catch myself thinking of how to deal with other emotions and not only those I associate with BE. Highly recommend this podcast!

    Grief and food
I just finished listening to podcast #78. Boy did it hit the mark…I have been searching for someone to also make this connection that made me feel not so alone. After losing my husband, of 30 years, I became quite aware of using food as a means to fill the vast hole left in my being that his loss left. Even as stuffing down donuts, thinking there would never be enough donuts to do the job. Finding this podcast gives me hope, and I’m so glad I came across it. Do yourself a favor and give a listen, these ladies are kind, soft and understanding.

    Nobody does it better.
These women go deep. So many ED podcasts are superficial but there’s always something new here. Steph & Sarah are insightful, interesting, highly relatable. Their honesty and humour is real. So enjoyable while giving you plenty to think about.

    You both are amazing!
As a psychotherapist and someone who has struggled with my own relationship with food, I can’t even tell you how helpful your knowledge, perspectives, and authenticity have been for me to shift my thinking on the subject. I love listening to you both and I’ve recommended this podcast to multiple clients who are looking to challenge the diet culture messaging we are all immersed in. Keep it up ladies, you rock! 💜

A deep dive into the psyche
Hi Stef and Sarah, Your podcast is currently my favorite. Thank you for your vulnerability and kindness as you share about your own realizations as you moved into life after diets. I appreciate hearing mature women sharing a loving discussion of those most sensitive feelings and thoughts about our self-worth and survival in these bodies we have. There is so much beyond the throwing off of diet culture and letting go of seeking “the male gaze”. (Revolution is exciting, but…what should I make for dinner?) Your podcast helps me stay the course and continue to seek new ways to accept my body, and live! There is definitely life after diets!

Just the podcast I was looking for
I just discovered your podcast and I’m loving your heartfelt and vulnerable discussions on the important topics related to unlearning diet culture. I’m a Registered Dietitian working in the Intuitive Eating/HAES space and I’m always looking for resources to share with clients which allow them to revisit topics we’re covering. You both have a beautiful way of explaining difficult topics. I’ve already shared several of your episodes. Thank you for your work. Please keep the episodes coming!

    Thank You Sarah and Stef
I have listened to each episode many times over and it feels as if Stef and Sarah are speaking to me, about me, and that my experience is theirs. It’s a comfort and revelation to know that there are others out there who have endured similar experiences and thoughts around dieting, disordered eating, diet culture, identity, worthiness, values, etc. I feel a glimmer of hope that there is a more fulfilling life waiting for me after I surrender to the battle I have fought with my body and food for the past 25+ years. There are not enough words to properly express my gratitude for this Podcast and for Sarah and Stef.
