    Refreshingly relevant
Often addresses historical topics having parallels and relevance to issues of today. Has reputable historians as guests. They know and respect him. He does thorough homework. Brings up concepts from their books as well as from other famous historians, and yet presents it concisely. Makes for extremely interesting discussions.

    Good Topics
They’re very timely and relevant topics and there are no ads at all which is so nice. It’s not as comprehensive as it could be, but I really have not personally detected much of a slant, politically… if it was obviously right-biased I would not listen to it. I know the WT leans right but this show is doing a good job of covering topics factually as far as I’ve heard. Sometimes the host interrupts the guest speakers.

    Avoid this podcast
Martin’s voice is as smooth as his brain. On his March 26th episode, he invites Anatol Lieven to opine on how the Russo-Ukrainian war will end. Anatol is not an expert on Ukraine, Eastern Europe, or Russian. Nor is he a credible historian or academic. He is a journalist platformed by the Kremlin and a member of the Valdai Club, a prominent piece of the Russian propaganda apparatus. Giving this man a platform puts Martin’s entire project into suspicion. I would stay far away if you have any respect for democracy and for a free and sovereign nation’s right to defend itself from unprovoked aggression.

    Feedback
Martin, Thank you for your podcast. It is quite informative and I listen to many of the episodes. Some feedback: occasionally you criticize other people, which is fine, but sometimes it isn’t backed up. Recently you had a negative comment about Glenn Beck with no specifics about what he said and why you objected to it. I have listened to some of his episodes and found nothing to object to. I’m open to valid criticism that is backed up with facts. Nonetheless your material is quite good. I like the fact that you are willing to cover lesser known facts about people such as Martin Luther King’s communist tendencies.

    FAKE CONSERVATIVE!!!
I started listing to this podcasts because I subscribe to the Washington Times, where I found it. Well, it's led by a RINO who constantly sides with the woke left. A good example is the latest on slavery in Florida.

    Very concise, insightful discussions.
I’ve discovered this podcast in the last month and am listening to many earlier recordings. These are intelligent discussions on a variety of current and historical issues with well-informed and interesting guests. It feels very NPR-ish but that’s okay. Most last around 30 minutes so they’re very succinct and don’t go overboard.

A timely and thoughtful analysis of current events through the prism of history
Martin DiCaro’s newest project arrives at just the right time, at a moment where America has been witness to unprecedented moments and events of late, but the reactions to which, along with the divisions it has created, are not altogether surprising, if one bothers to study and understand the nation’s history. Without reading and understanding our history as researched and presented by real historians, it is impossible to truly understand the depth and nuances of historic events and how they compare with today’s. This is where a podcasts like HAIH comes in, as it is hosted by someone who has spent a lot of time doing just that. In a world dominated by social media, where people read and then thoughtlessly share memes designed to score cheap political points but often lacking in context and filled with half-truths, if any truths, it is more important than ever to get a well-researched perspective on world events. Although he could likely spend hours providing such perspective, Martin manages to squeeze it into a relatively short podcast. A must listen for anyone who is craving a sane, thoughtful analysis amid a world of nonsense masquerading as much.

    Hosted by a sexual predator
I can’t believe that after he was sent away packing for numerous offenses against women in his last job, he is now doing this.
