Nick MIchalakThoroughly enjoyable & educational!Jamie interviews some of the most prolific folks in film production and the legacy of cinema. He’s interviewed professionals who have worked with Spielberg, Lucas, Ridley Scott, and so many more. He has a very relaxed and personable style, and his guests are very forthcoming and enthusiastic about their craft. It’s always a wonderful listen and very informative!

NoTalentAClownFantastic Behind the Scenes Movie PodcastA great listen for anyone who loves movies and the behind the scenes magic it takes to create them. Having grown up in the 70s and 80s and loving Star Wars since I was a kid, it was great discovering this podcast. Jamie’s conversations with guests are relaxed and always interesting. If you are into sci-fi and adventure movies and enjoy pouring over blu ray bonus features and commentaries then this podcast is for you.

Me Too and the Exactly WhatEar CandyJust a wonderful film history podcast, well-researched, and spoken with an elegant, relaxing voice. Fancy podcasts like this are why I now own smoking jackets and a pencil mustache.
-
SlowsnailA must listen to for Film Fans! This show has everything for anyone interested in movies or television! With interviews with VFX people, writers, directors, producers, editors, cinematographers, art department and authors. Covering development, production, postproduction, and film history.

Tom TomlinsonAlways funIt’s great to live a little through Jamie’s interviewing all the hero’s of my childhood. He is doing what I think so many Star Wars fans would like to do.

Sabacc72Truly Valuable Film HistoryJamie Benning has been working hard to present film history for a couple of decades. I discovered his work with the excellent “Filmumentaries,” he made for Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars. These are annotated versions of the films with trivia and commentary, alternate takes and deleted scenes included. They took a great deal of research and still hold up as good supplemental behind-the-scenes records of their subjects. In the last couple of years he’s devoted a great deal of time to this one-man podcast that is also well researched and he’s getting access to some legendary creators of some of the best known genre films. I’d recommend you search the episodes for a name you recognize and after you’ve heard that episode or others like it, dive into one of Jamie’s interviews with a name you might not recognize. The interviewees are fascinating on their own and these longform conversations bring out a myriad of stories. Jamie’s perspective as a working video editor and his fandom make him an excellent interlocutor that makes his subjects open up even further.

dustyWayne2016VFX History 101This is an outstanding podcast series that, IMO, helps fans of Visual Effects recharge their creative juices. More please! And, yes that includes myself working as a professional Visual Effects Artist. 🖖🏽🤓💫 “Cooperation is the strongest applied Force in the Universe.” - hdc2

MikeHarvatFor True Movie LoversI've been a fan of Jamie's work for years. This is the best podcast out there for people who love learning about how their favorite movies were made. Highly recommended!
-
DavidT3263827Always InterestingJamie is always talking to interesting people about interesting stuff and I always learn something new (even when I know *everything* about a topic). If you close your eyes it feels like you’re back in the “good ol’ days” of special effects. He sure does his homework.

dasinfogodMasterclasses in film productionIf you're an avid film credit reader, this is the podcast for you. Mr. Benning's meticulous research preparation pays off with key insights into the cinema craft, probing deeper than most glossy magazine articles, electronic press kits or "value-added" disc bonus material. Even better is that his guests come across as more relaxed & at ease speaking with a working professional than a conventional journalist or marketing promoter, sharing details you might not hear elsewhere. Highly recommended!

EmeffkayExcellent movie behind the scenes podcast. If you don’t know Jamie Benning by name you might be familiar with his work. He’s produced a series of amazingly edited and researched documentaries on the making of some of our favorite movies growing up. As a big Jaws fan, his “Inside Jaws” was my favorite but he’s also done the original Star Wars films, etc. Really worth looking for! Anyway the deep knowledge is on display here too! He’s been able to line up some great guests even though the podcast is still in its early days. Great conversations with lost of inside on the production and effects behind some classic movies, and its breezy

SonnyleesmithDynamite PodcastFor subjects that don’t get a lot of attention, Jamie gets guests from more overlooked parts of the entertainment industry and shines a well deserved spotlight on their hard work and contributions. His documentaries are AMAZING as well. Please check it all out.

bradc2010Great podcast for film fans who enjoy deep divesJamie does a fabulous job of interviewing all kinds of interesting movie people and really digging deep into their careers. He doesn’t just talk about the usual subjects — he covers all kinds of things with each guest. I have no doubt that no matter how much you may know about film history, you’ll very likely learn some new things from each episode. Highly recommended.
-
BigbearmdbEssential Film PodcastJamie somehow manages to interview the people you’ve always wanted interviewed (Walter Murch, Gary Rydstrom) as well as the amazing people you didn’t know you wanted (Peter MacDonald, many others). Maybe the best film podcast out there.
-
LadieaMan217Entertaining and knowledgeableJamie has a passion for movies, and it spills over in this podcast. I love hearing the nitty-gritty details of houw films come together, and show doesn't disappoint. Highly recommended!

doubleofiveIn Depth Discussions With Your BTS HeroesJamie is a great interviewer and manages to get the people who worked on your favorite movies to tell stories you’ve never heard before!
-
ItuneReviewGuyGREAT podcast for students of film production and film historyJamie Benning excels at well-researched and thoughtful discussions with filmmakers from across the industry, with a strong angle on “legends” and their stories from the sets of many classic films. If you grew up a fan of Lucas, Spielberg (to name just a few) and love to imagine life in such magical places as Elstree and Pinewood, then this is your podcast to check out.

MaddallasIt's NOT fairIt Filmumentaries a great podcast? Yes. Does Filmumentaries give you insights into the film business you can't find anywhere else? Yes. Is Jaime an amazingly skilled interviewer who balances an inviting demeanor and insightful questions to deliver an entertaining and educational podcast experience you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere? Yes. But. It's completely irresponsible for Jaime to be handing out so much valuable information for free. Some of us went to film school and didn't get this type of wisdom. These are career veterans in their fields sharing life learned lessons and skills. I'll keep listening, I have the crippling debt of film student loans to prove I deserve to. The rest of you move on, there is nothing to hear here. 🤣

Mark "tet421" T.This is THE podcast for film buffs! Was Star Wars: The Making of the Movie Step-Up book from 1980 your “blu-ray special feature?” Have you watched “From Star Wars to Jedi” and “Classic Creatures” more than the actual movies themselves? Have you lost count on how many times you’ve read J.W. Rinzler’s “Making Of” books? Are commentary tracks one of the main reasons you buy DVD’s and Blu-Ray’s? If so, then the Fiilmumentaries podcast by Jamie Benning is for you. He brought us the amazing Star Wars, Jaws, and Raiders Filmumentaries and is now bringing us this amazing podcast. These aren’t fan opinions, conjecture, or theories. These are the stories from the artists and technicians who actually did the work involved in bringing you the movies you love to watch over and over again. This is THE podcast for film buffs, give it a listen today!
-
Aggiefuzz97Absolutely not to be missed. There aren’t many people more knowledgeable than Mr. Benning. His super informative and enjoyable show just brings to life all these movies (Star Wars, Raiders, heck, even the Muppets) that we’ve loved for so long. If you’re not subscribed this show, you’re really missing out.

Laid back, easy listening - heartwarming and intelligent. A must for true film buffs.
