How do you put her on a podcast? She doesn’t hardly run dogs, she doesn’t know what she’s doing. She’s a great Facebook warrior. Posts the same photos of her dogs constantly. She sits behind a screen and belittles people for absolutely no reason. She goes around and try’s to pic fights on the computer because she thinks she’s some great knowledgeable hound hunter, which she isn’t…. At all. I tried to listen to the podcast 5 times and was unable to listen to her talk. She didn’t know much, had to look things up that are common knowledge for people who actually run their dogs. She likes to think she gives a good name for the sport, when in reality she does more harm than good. I actually couldn’t believe that she was on a podcast. Being on a podcast doesn’t me you are a hound hunter, it means you like to hear yourself talk and want people to think you’re something you’re not.

    Training
Heath I really enjoy all of your content. What is most helpful is anything training. I’m not running bear dogs but acquired my first squirrel dog just nine years ago. A lot of your methods transfer. I experienced a issue recently I haven’t heard discussed. I have started 5 different puppies over the last 5 years. Two of them the same issue. At eight or ten weeks of age I began slowly introducing them to gunfire. First with loud clapping while they were eating progressing to 22 riffle and then a 12 gauge. No issues with either pup . Had them not flinching with the 12 gauge over there head by 4 or 5 months. This work was done different years but late spring early summer. The problem came in late July early August. Upon hearing a shot both pups were extremely gun nervous resulting in me having to start all over. What are your thoughts. I have suspected 4th of July fireworks. My closest neighbor is 200 yards away from the kennel. It’s that it or I’m going to long without shooting around them. What do you think? The other three no issues. All pups were mountain curs with different blood lines.

    Well done!
I’ve hunted hair, with beagles, call cats and bear and coyote. I’ve never hunted lions or links, but I hope to! You guys have very informative episodes and fun taboo! Thank you and thank you for all your hard work keep up the good fight! I would also like to know how to get a Plott hound with some of the fielders bear pen strain.

    Tell ‘em heath
So glad to hear you say that a handle don’t diminish drive I run walkers on coon in SE Ohio my dogs must have a handle that’s something I’m a stickler on everyone says you’ll kill there drive but they keep treeing coon every night

    Mixed opinion
Some of their pods are ok some are intolerable. Steve fielder will put you to sleep and I don’t take advice from k9 police handlers. I wish I didn’t get 10 different pods in one feed.

    Disappointed
Tried listening to the alpha 300 episode on the way home from a hunt with my 6yr old In the truck. Great information on the products, disappointed in Buddy’s choice of language and had to shut it off.

Born 100 Years Too Late - Jim Buehler & Steve Smith
Absolutely the best hound interview I’ve ever listened too. Unlike some other podcasts, this isn’t about high production value or starry-eyed idol worship. This interview is about humble Houndsmen who’ve been working lion hunters for longer than many have been alive sharing stories, experiences and knowledge. More great information came out of this podcast than some others provide in a year! Brett isn’t trying to build his personal “brand” or prove he’s the smartest guy in the room, he’s just following his passion. Great job Brett and great job Double U!!!! Eat your heart out Bear Grease.

Really enjoying To Sit by the River!
I have found the To Sit by the River series to be thought-provoking, challenging, and informative. There is a theme of how to deeply engage with place that comes through in different ways in each conversation. The guests provide insights from a variety of perspectives, but they’re consistently interesting, well-informed people. Each episode leaves me wanting to learn more about whatever the topic was. Keep ‘em coming!
  • Jet bred
    Awful language
Could have done with out the cussin, there is absolutely no need for that. Not to mention I’m sure there’s kids that listen to this podcast.
  • Huntinfl
    Love the show!
I’m a religious listener, I wish you could do biweekly shows, but I’m content with the weekly show. I also mark the coon hunting and sight dog podcasts as read without listening to them because it’s the same thing, worded differently, over and over. Keep up the good work on the big game houndsman interviews though!
  • Muncy Outdoors
    The best one out there
I listen to every hound podcast I can find and the Gone to the dogs podcast with Stephen Fielder is by far my favorite. Keep them coming buddy. We listen to them all here in the Boneyard.

I coon hunted for over 30 years and loved every minute of it. After a battle with cancer, I had to give it up, but I’ll never stop missing it. I love Steve Fielder’s Gone to the Dogs podcast because his interviews stir good memories as he tells the stories of great dogs, handlers and breeders of days gone by. I was very blessed to have live through the heydays of coonhunting when it wasn’t uncommon to have 40 dogs at a local hunt. Steve brings back those times and I really enjoy his podcast.

A very enjoyable podcast. Lots of valuable information and I really enjoy all the hunting stories. The best ones are the hunting stories from the past
  • ATuorto
    Excellent Content
I’ve enjoyed this podcast for well over a year. They put out great content and put out plenty of it. My only criticism would be if The Hunting Hound and Gone to the Dogs. Both of these shows have potentially the best guests and material but the hosts are not doing them justice. There is way too much of the hosts talking instead of the guests. G to the D is nearly unlistenable. The HH is better, but poor questions and not giving guests an opportunity to answer questions ruins what could be a great show. Sorry to be critical, but I’m saying this to hopefully make the channel better.

Dale Lee tapes are the best
I really appreciate Brett Vaughn’s effort to acquire and distribute the Dale Lee tapes. Listening to those stories made me realize I was born 100 years too late.

    Dale Lee
Fantastic episode of Dale Lee telling stories of Jaguar hunting. Appreciate you sharing. It was awesome. G Cunningham John Belozer episode 72 was great.
  • ChelseyLynn4
Episode 44 my favorite so far!
I love this weeks episode! I could listen to you three swap stories, talk about life and current events all day! Listening to this podcast makes my workday on the computer go by that much faster. Thank you for this! Update: 2/25/22 - I really enjoy hearing about dual purpose dogs, I like hearing about the experiences of others and trying to learn from their experiences. I like the updates too so those of us who follow along can hear the progress of dogs/pups etc. Keep the content coming! Thank you for all you do!

Gone to the dogs with Steve Fielder
I have never been a tech guy that listens to podcasts. That being said I heard about Gone to the Dogs from Facebook and decided to give it a try. I’ve trained dogs for a long time but I’m far from a professional hounds man. I am learning so much and truly enjoy these podcasts. It’s showing me that some things I do are good and some not so much haha. But they all give me more tools in my belt to try to train the next great world champion dog that we all hope for.

    A place for all houndsmen
Double U has got it going on for all of the houndsmen across the globe. If you can run it with a dog, DU has a podcast that’ll cover it. I love the training tips portion they put out. I’m a coon hunter, but find myself interested in listening to the podcasts about running bear, cats, and most all other game. But, true to my passion, Steve Fielder’s Gone to the Dogs is my favorite. Steve is an encyclopedia on coon dogs and their history. Thank you Double U for putting out good content and giving Steve a place to educate us all!

    Lynx Hunt review
2nd generation hounds man, just starting my own pack apart from my dad and I listen to every episode! Favorite podcast by far along with joe rogans. Still a lot to learn but what I enjoy most and what I’d like to see more of is talking about scent, track age judging and field judging an animal. How scent can stay longer in certain weather, how dogs interpret scents, stride length, track size or number of tracks and what that can tell you, tips for judging an animals gender or size in a tree before it’s on the ground, animal tendencies, trailing or treeing sounds a dog makes. Hope this helps, hope i win!
