Very one sided news. A lot of facts are left out and buzz words are used to sway the listeners opinion. It should be an opinion column.

I don’t care left-right. I’m here for news and she delivers. Well done the team. It’s been quite political lately but that’s how news reflect society. I used to work in broadcasting , the fact is that news analysis is what people need. US is very much in a bad shape, mentally. Analysis just comes out as bad as it is. Suggest the team to present more of the good stuff globally. Need some uplifting of humanity for a change. Thanks!

No longer news. My go to for news every weekday morning on my drive to work for years. But this show has turned political all geared to the left. Very negative, one sided and pushes violence not objective news. Why not give both sides of the story and generate common ground and positivity. May need to move on.

If I understood this podcast correctly near end, that there seems to be a final deadline of request to help facilitate the wrongly deported accused gang member’s release and or return to America, or would be seen as an intent to deny the judge orders. Trump dominates the headlines, some of it is negative. Anyone complaining about this is just annoyed at the state of now. I don’t remember to listen everyday, but am always glad I did when I do.

I used to love this podcast very informative, i listened to it religiously every morning. Now since this recent election she bashes Trump everyday, which is okay but she never shares the good the man does. She makes it blatantly obvious She’s against Trump. Never was she this hard on our last president sadly I will have to look somewhere else for my daily news.

This used to be my daily listen on my way to work but since Trump took office this show has become nothing but bashing of his office. I don’t consider my self afflicted with any party but enough is enough. One sided news does nothing to benefit its listeners or Apple News. Cancelling my Apple News subscription.

As much as I enjoy Apple News Today, it has continuously become more apparent that they are no longer really trying to remain neutral. Almost every daily podcast invites a left wing guest to speak on current events with a bias that is heavily left wing. Questions framed to be “truth seeking” are just soft-pitches over home plate for experts to drill into left field. I am a true “centrist” in the spectrum of left/right politics and being completely neutral to opinions and listening to opinions with an open mind makes it very easy to point out that almost every if not EVERY political discussion leans heavily towards radical left wing echo-chamber discussions. It’s a shame that Apple News is incapable of presenting facts in a neutral context.

Evidence-based, meditative information about current events that matter most. Keep it up! I listen every morning.

I have no words just the best

I’ve listened to this show every morning for over 3 years, and loved it. The direction the show was changing during the election, it was very liberal and started being persuasive. Now when I listen, not only the guests but the HOST blames everything on the current sitting president. No matter if you are democrat or republican this show should not lean one way or the other. It’s called “News”. I’ve been very turned off by this.

Background: I’ve been a loyal listener since the very first episode, having tuned in to nearly every episode. I genuinely want to enjoy this show, hoping for a concise 10-15 minute news overview to complement the hour-long, in-depth podcasts I also follow. However, since Trump’s reelection as president, the show has become increasingly unbearable. Below is my review, shared in the hope that improvements will restore its appeal and bring me back as a listener. Positives: • High Production Quality: The podcast boasts excellent sound editing, delivering a polished and professional listening experience. Negatives: • Overly Political Focus: The content is heavily centered on politics, often viewed through a left-leaning, “woke” lens, which limits its perspective. • Biased Source Material: The podcast appears to rely on anti-Trump legacy media, leading to a “garbage in, garbage out” effect, with increasingly left-wing narratives over time. • Specific Example: In a recent episode, the use of “pregnant people” instead of “pregnant women” and an interview with an activist who mischaracterized Trump’s actions as an attempt to “overthrow the government” highlight a narrow ideological slant. • Limited Audience Appeal: The current approach alienates listeners beyond a niche demographic, such as unmarried women. Suggestion for Improvement: • Balanced Representation: Emulate Jeff Bezos’ approach at the Washington Post by including both left-wing and right-wing voices. Really enjoy listening to the host, though I do miss the banter when there were two. Seems to carry a main bias towards liberals and would be nice for a more unbiased approach. Maybe having more conservative guests speaking on a topic.

I used to love this podcast and believed it was true adulterated journalism, but that belief was tarnished with Cook up on that stage having donated his 1M for his seat. Don’t believe this is ever going to be hard hitting journalism - this will be softballs not to truly challenge and push to the authoritarian/fascism of the current administration. Shame on you Apple. Call your journalism what it is now - cowering to whatever keeps you on Trumps good side. What an embarrassment you are now.

Shamita’s voice is just made to deliver the news! I also love how the music is driven by the tone of the segment. I think it’s more engaging and just enough of a pause between topics to prepare for what’s to come. It’s like smelling coffee to reset the olfactory nerves in order to take in the next scent, with a clear head.

Been giving this podcast a chance for months since the changeover in Washington. While I appreciate critical analysis and recognize that every leader can do negative things or make mistakes, there is no attempt to acknowledge objective accomplishments or progress by conservative leadership. They ignore the good things Trump has done and always have a way of spinning something negative out every action he takes, mostly using personal antidotes and fear tactics.

Extremely bias

There are so many options for getting your morning update. Much to my surprise I’ve developed the habit of coming to Apple News Today first. Unlike other sources, there is a calmness to Shumita’s delivery. That’s no small achievement since she doesn’t pull any punches in the content. I learn things from this source I don’t always hear in other places. And since they rely on vetted sources I feel some degree confidence is what I’m hearing. I appreciate they bring in reporters from well known sources to spend a minute or two breaking down the story. Definitely worth a listen!

This news podcast is a great way to start your day—straightforward, no drama, just the facts.

A daily must! I love Shumita Basu’s tone and pace. Her voice is so calming! She is the main reason why I listen daily. She is probably my fav narrator out there right now. I also love how the information is short and to the point.

It wraps the news up in an accurate, short, and easy to understand format.

It’s how I start my day and prompts me to dig deeper on the stories I want to know more about.

This show has been a must for my morning commute. At this point when I hear her voice I automatically think “oh it’s morning! Another new day.” But I don’t think it is necessary to mention “Shumita is out sick today” “Shumita is out of the office today” “I’m subbing in for Shumita”. What’s the intention of those msgs?
