Bubbles051387PoliticsStop foisting your political opinions down everyone’s throat!!! You continuously alienate your conservative listeners. Just keep it on subject!!
-
C. RobertoLove you guys but…I’m probably one of the few straight men that love your show. Bitcoin is over $111k right now. Try googling your blanket statements before you declare that something is “worthless.”

kbrown12234566899UnbelievableIt’s so bad don’t even start it listening. I was looking for a new podcast and saw this one and couldn’t hardly get through the first few minutes. They are so disrespectful to victims and victims families. It’s gross. Thai is what’s wrong with some of the true crime podcasts these days. No class no empathy. Patrick is so obnoxious
-
jane fotAlmost doneReally tired of hearing your opinion on politics we tune in to hear the story not political opinions.

it was recommendedCancelled my PatreonEverything I was paying for ends up being free That, and the rage, hypocrisy and judgemental poison spewing from not only the hosts but the commentators is disturbing and disgusting

Aledbetter72Love this podcast!I love this podcast- they keep me laughing. I do have a recommendation- Julian and Patrick should cover Southern Fried Lies that’s on Amazon Prime. All I could think of is how funny that would be to hear their review!!
-
morgan.sharpGillian is my spirit animalI love this duo so much! For insanely comedic people, they know when to laugh and when to be serious. They do such a great job all around. I just want to be both their best friend. Grab a drink, sit back and get ready to laugh and cry, you can thank me later for convincing you to listen. And once you’re hooked, be a lady pates at the 5, you won’t regret it! 🫶🏼🤍

Yellowfu1ep cases?I’m a fan of how P and G tell stories but…I feel like the last year it seems they only post episode 1 of several episodes but only if you have patreon. I’m not gonna join just because of this. I want to hear them tell stories but please stop sharing only the first ep. Unless their regular non-patreon eps are being posted somewhere new? Wish it were different.

NV LizzyWM3Damien is a baby killing witch who also killed cats and at least one dog. Thankful for Rick for posting videos like WM3 for Dummies so the truth is getting out. Go back to prison baby killer!

That pod girlThe guy hostHe is so hard to listen to. Talks in circles and is too dramatic.

YuuuuupNikI live for GillianLIVING FOR MY GIRL!! The rage is always valid and I can TELL she’s containing it. I wish I could hear her views on our current political climate. GIRL I HEAR YOU AND SEE YOU! I never leave comments but this is a GP STAN 💕💜

KelgreeLosing the plotLong time listener and this was my favorite podcast but recently Gillian is insufferable. Between bashing religion/religious people in the Scamanda episode and going off on the main victim in Sweet Bobby for wanting children… it’s genuinely ugly behavior. I fully understand speaking your beliefs and supporting people/communities who deserve it but my word it’s getting too much. I love love Patrick! He’s trying so hard and pulling the WAGON keeping this show alive while simultaneously fighting off GP speaking down on him or constantly trying to explain why he’s always wrong. The content they cover is amazing but GP is dragging this down of late and making it a hard listen. Hopefully the course can be readjusted and get back to early TCO soon.

Statia Honey B.Used to be goodI don’t enjoy writing this but I have to be honest. Because this podcast has declined over the last year I stopped listening. When Patrick and Gillian focused on the actual documentary but touched on criminal justice concepts, patterns, and even issues; I loved the podcast. It’s riddled with their personal opinions that aren’t even related to true crime. I don’t care what they think about the Kardashians, dogs, organized religion, or especially their politics. Not only do they have extreme views (like their disdain for police) they are so alienating. If you don’t agree with them, their rhetoric will make you feel like you’re a bad person. I used to come to this podcast for victim advocacy and documentary comedy. Not to sit through diatribes. I’ve switched over to Buried Bones.

kelsey_bNMSUThis show makes my TuesdayTHIS PODCAST WILL MAKE YOU HAPPIER. it is the only true crime pod of its kind where the hosts cover true crime docs in the most delicious fashion. Been here for about 4 years, absolutely love TCO, it’s the only pod that I smile and instantly click on every Tuesday. Gillian and Patrick complement each other so well. Gillian is unapologetically cynical, empathetic, hysterical, and honest at the same time and it’s refreshing to hear her review true crime docs with this mixture of total empathy for the victims, brutal honesty for calling out the bulls**t from doc subjects and talking heads spouting bulls**t, affection for doc subjects and talking heads who are there being authentic and honest. And “It’s chaos down here Tom” is classic. Patrick is a great contrast with his openness about his life and positivity (not that Gillian is never positive!) and his own brand of earnest humor that is so lovable and anecdotes for days that make me feel all the feels, not to mention his true appreciation for fans of the podcast. I just love it. *one note: Patrick, Gillian, come on now, we can do better with the comments about atheism. I was confused about that. I never talk about my atheism and it’s actually deeply personal dating back to being 12 or 13 and having a complete rupture with faith following the deaths of my 23 year old teacher and her husband as well as just questions I was asking that no one at my episcopal church could answer. I know it’s ironic because I am talking about it now, but only to say, idk, I love your pod so much and have so much respect for y’all I couldn’t understand where the… disdain(?) for atheists was coming from in Scamanda Episode 1… I guess it’s not y’all’s job to make me feel comfortable about being unable to have faith and still be true to myself but idk it felt kinda mean spirited, everyone’s experience is difference of course, but atheists in my experience we don’t like to talk about it in a country that’s 80% Christian, there’s a lot of stigma being atheist, and most of all a lot of difficulty coming to terms with in my heart of hearts, I don’t believe there’s an afterlife except for in the way that science can explain it… for example, the atoms in our bodies were once billions of years ago part of distant stars or that people live on in others memories.

14639Fame changed you?Gross. Sanctimonious. Hosted by pick me girl waaaaaaay holier than thou even though I hate everyone Gillian, and I’m gay, so all my sexual comments are fine Patrick. Could these two be any more hypocritical? I don’t think fame changed them, I think it just confused people on who they are for a while. They stand for nothing but themselves.
-
grace.faceIf I had a quarter for every time they digressed….I listened to one epi, made myself listen to another to make sure I gave the show a second chance, but it was painful!! More than half the episode was COMPLETELY unrelated to the actual story I was expecting to hear….if you want to hear an actual true crime story, don’t waste your time. If you want to hear two friends chat and gossip and swear, follow now! 🙄

tea_and_orangesGuess I’m not “fam”Used to love the show, but Gillian misused the term “psychotic” too many times. Doing this only adds to the stigma for those who’ve actually struggled with psychosis. And there is major stigma and ignorance around what it means to be psychotic. If you care to know, psychosis is a symptom of mental illness where you might have hallucinations and/or delusions (losing touch with reality); when you have it, you’re “psychotic.” Yes, this could potentially lead to harmful behavior (for example, if you truly believe someone is trying to harm you or your family). But it is not an inherently violent condition, nor does it involve calculated lying, abuse, or murder.
-
KAPerl AHave to be in the moodI get sick of Gillian’s know it all attitude but I appreciate the quick wit of the podcast and victim focus
-
madysaywhaaSo much hateThese two make me feel like a loser if I’m a straight person, all they do is hate on others, Gillian hates everything and it’s constant negativity. Love the cases they cover so it’s very unfortunate how rude they are.
-
BeCe2098Not what it used to beI really enjoyed this podcast in the past and I do still enjoy some of the episodes. But Gillian is throwing off the vibe with her commentary at times. Specifically in the Sweet Bobby episode. She kept repeating that the main person of the story felt pressure to have kids over and over. Without considering that maybe this woman genuinely wanted kids of her own. It’s like she sees everything through the lens of her own perspective. Also, the amount of ads has gotten ridiculous! I understand that is how they make money but they have more ads than most podcasts I listen to.
-
j_a_x_garbage bell chimes for you G&PI cannot think of anything I need less in my life. Do people really still listen to this?
-
mela280I loved you guys so long…I feel like Patrick is trying to get the vibe back, but G is too angry from politics or something. I hope they can get back to what it was. Please stop with the political plugs. You know you’re saying something that the country is very divided on. Your eagerness to plug your hate is part of the division that’s so toxic in this country. Be better than all that and recognize your perspective is just that. Don’t alienate your supporters for political commentary we’ve never asked for.

Gunslinger BeeYesss!!!The only reason I haven’t left a review is down to my breath taking laziness. GIRL. This podcast is perfection. Funny, smart, weird. Gillian is MY QUEEN. Patrick is adorkable. I love it!
-
mes.leelooNopeWhen people who are cool and respected in the industry report disrespect and bad behavior it’s hard to get past it. I’m grown, I don’t need my podcasters to live on a pedestal. BUT when most of what P&G talk about is how horrible other people are, then brag up what an amazing community they are to sell Patreon, just ick. It’s unauthentic and makes the show unenjoyable.

JessamcmichaelCleaning, driving, living, and every night before bedThese two are like family they are in my ears so much. I am a “Lady Pates at the $5” and proud. I love interacting with them on the Facebook page (Patrick has answered me 3 times so we’re basically best friends) and during thejr drag bingo! Their episodes make me cry laughing. If Patrick’s laugh doesn’t make you smile, take the stick out yo butt!
-
VanessaMWilliamsLove you both!!I enjoy your pod cast very much. I recently found you guys and have already listened to all episodes.

Tb939393Moving to four starsOkay SO long time listener. I feel like G and P have hit a “growth year”… kind of reminds me of that one year where My Favorite Murder was seriously going downhill. You guys need to listen to the BALANCED reviews (2-4 stars) which seem to all be saying same thing. Patrick is walking on eggshells with G and afraid to offend her. She’s pretty dismissive and condescending of everything and everyone. If she wants to continue making money on this, she needs to lean more on her hilarioussss comedic side. She can still get her message about things she cares for across without turning people off before they even stepped in the door. It’s an uncomfortable vibe for sure the last year or so.
-
V_womanIntriguedI’m slightly disturbed by a previous comment regarding not laughing. I love the hosts and their commentary on these documentaries, but I think continuously looking to true crime for the laughs is not normal or good no matter how desensitized we’ve become as a society. I appreciate the approach on how to make these horrific events more understandable and relatable by these hosts sharing their thoughts and experiences.

CharlieMia123Why am I paying for PatreonI love this podcast so much and wait for it every week. Super disappointing to have recycled content from Patreon- which I pay for. This week is the third time in the last month that I’m seeing a Patreon episode on the regular feed.
-
SmaltyWowThese hosts are so annoying
-
DoesnotlightuparoomLong time listenerI’ve been listening for years and on the Patreon. It might sound odd since this is a true crime podcast but this show helped when I had severe anxiety. Now, if I am feeling anxious I turn on TCO and pick a sports or scam themed episode like McMillions or All the Queens Horses. Gillian and Patrick really help with their jokes and Patrick’s laugh! Gillian and Patrick, you’re the best! Thank you!
-
ormond by the seaPatreonBeing billed and not getting Patreon episodes… so frustrating
-
PlinaKuSo fakeUsed to like them, but they showed their true personalities at the obsessed fest and won’t ever listen or give them money ever again
-
Peachy girl zSo PCThese 2 work so hard to follow the liberal guidelines. Yet they throw shade on everyone and everything conservative. The latest episode where they refuse to use certain words or names is so over the top.
-
Jane 1890WhyDon’t get the anger at all and the stress , enjoy your money
-
Mkh012Love it, but not as funny anymoreI really enjoy this podcast. I’ve been a listener for years! The topics are really interesting, but I haven’t laughed at an episode in a really long time. I think they’ve definitely lost their comedic edge. I wish they would bring some more comedy back to their episodes. Their earlier episodes were so funny!
-
Becca-saurusHillarious, wonderful hostsI listen to what seems like a million podcasts, but this is my favorite. I've listened to every episode multiple times and shared it with friends and family. If you like true crime and comedy but are not a monster or misogynist, then this podcast is for you.
-
lady pate at the fiveMy favorite podI love these two. I love this pod.
-
jensingle3Just startedThese 2 make me laugh so hard. I am only on Jesus Camp but every episode, im dead, especially with the ghost in Patrick’s house and his shrill scream 😂 They are the perfect compliment to each other and can’t wait to get to the new seasons.
-
MarenKillzMy Internet best friendsGillian girl, love you, please keep shrieking. Honestly shocked that review wasn’t aimed at Patrick. And miss Patrick girl, shriek it out. Love you both. Love your defense of victims. Y’all filled a gap in my life and this podcast slaps. Lady Pates at the $5 but looking at doing more because y’all deserve it.
-
Duane TutDelightfulAbsolutely love this Podcast. I’m a retired Law Enforcement Officer that has been obsessed with true crime my entire life. Long before the internet I had the Time Life True Crime books you ordered from TV or magazines, lol. Love your unique and refreshing style of covering true crime. You guys are awesome and make my day all the time. Keep up the incredible work.
-
Cc OgLoveI’ve been listening since almost the beginning. This is still my favorite podcast of all.
-
MshermanPerfect distraction!I’m a big true crime doc watcher and I started listening (well bingeing) to this podcast in November of 2024 after hearing Patrick talk about Gillian on his Golden Girls podcast….I instantly fell in love. The humor, Gillian’s impressions, Patrick’s laugh and the insight on docs I’ve seen already are the perfect distraction for life. I can honestly say I haven’t listened to much of anything else since November (my other podcasts are stacking up because of it 🙃)!!!
-
jjr19722HilariousI just discovered this podcast. They are both hilarious!! Love it!
-
Chellebelle!!Love!!If I could have a ringtone of Gillian saying” just I can’t “ And Patrick saying “aaand it’s not going so great” would be perfect. I’m a podcast snob I hardly ever stick with one but I’m bingeing this!!! I’m already to 2019. Love you guys love your personalities always do you cause it works!!
-
Mental Mess JessPerfect DistractionI have been a true crime listener for several years, but just recently found this podcast. Generally I listen to more in depth podcasts but have really actually enjoyed the shorter versions Gillian and Patrick make. For the last few weeks I have been struggling with my mental health, obsessing over my past failures, and comparing myself relentlessly to others. This podcast was my light! As sad as it sounds, I actually enjoyed listening to G and P genuinely laugh with each other. They have been a great distraction from my own mind, and I can’t thank them enough! They definitely know how to lift a girl up!
-
This Tired GalI love this podcast but…Gillian I love you girl, but please stop shrieking.
-
Ethereal StarImpressedI’m impressed with the changes made to this podcast after receiving a lot of criticism. They could’ve doubled down, but they added more meaningful content. Appreciate the pivot.
-
EatyourokraWhat happened to this podcast?I enjoy the humor but Gillian is just too angry and judgmental. Girl, isn’t it exhausting to be so angry all the time? Because it’s exhausting to listen to. And the things they get offended over is to the point of ridiculous…offended over the use of the word wedlock, offended by the phrase ‘product of a broken home’. These two can find a way to be offended over breathing air. The constant white hate while claiming to be inclusive. I’m reminded of the time Patrick said, “remember when we use to have a First Lady that looked like Nancy Reagan and now we have one that looks like Michelle Obama?” You may disagree on a person’s politics but to comment negatively on how a woman looks or the color of their skin? A person cannot change the color of their skin or how they look but these podcasters find it their place to say one First Lady is better than the other over LOOKS and skin color. And then there’s the whole OF scenario and how it was handled and not addressed in addition to the stories coming out of how people involved with Patrick were mistreated. Garbage bell 🗑️🛎️
