The Connected Yoga Teacher Podcast

69

The Connected Yoga Teacher Podcast is a place where yoga teachers can tune in each week to learn, connect with community and gain inspiration. After a yoga teacher training it can feel like being left out in the wilderness for yoga teacher entrepreneurs. The business side of yoga is often not talked about as much as philosophy, anatomy and other topics covered in a yoga teacher training. This podcast addresses the questions and challenges that yoga teachers face. Hear interviews with yoga teachers and other professionals on a variety of topics.

    beautiful, intentional
Shannn's mix of guests with personal reflection provides so many strategies for enhancing the way we live our yoga practice--intentional, intersectional, challenging, and powerful.

    Episode 332
I loved this episode ! It’s exactly what I needed to hear today bc I woke up this morning so emotional about how I have zero confidence in teaching right now and I honestly feel like I haven’t found my authenticity to add to a class yet . That is important and what stands out the most to me when I take a class . It’s the little things that makes the class memorable. I personally need to find my voice and my little thing that makes me shine and remembered.

    One of the Best!
Shannon is so relatable as a teacher and interviewer and she consistently brings relevant conversations forward; some that aren’t that easy. I also love the depth and unhurried style of this podcast. As I listen, I have time to absorb the meaningful content. I always get new insights or simply reminders of what I know deep in my heart. Thank you Shannon!

Fantastic Resource for ALL Yoga Teachers
I was introduced to Shannon and The Connected Yoga Teachers podcast 2 years ago when I first started in my YTT. Shannon has taught me so much over the years!! She helps teachers solve problems in real time and for me, has been an absolute Godsend! She’s taught me about marketing/ managing an online business, yoga philosophy, anatomy/physiology, and soooo…much…more!!! Her podcasts are interesting and thought provoking. I look forward to the podcast each week. Thank you Shannon for being such a great teacher!!

This podcast is gold for yoga teachers ⭐️
Amazing resource for yoga teachers! Shannon hosts and explores many topics relevant for yoga teachers and few, that at first, I did not even know were very much needed. The last episode I listened to “Trauma and Business Ownership” has been a game changer for me. Thank you 🙏

I’m so grateful for this podcast as a resource to continue to develop, refine & challenge my yoga practice as teacher & practitioner. While folding laundry LOL. Shannon’s topics and guests are diverse, and I love her thoughtful, curious, warm approach to the interviews. I always leave an episode with more questions than I had at the start, in the best way!

So grateful for this connection, the way you engage in real conversation (listening to guests and listeners as well as sharing your own experience), and every opportunity you present for learning and reflection. I look forward to every episode and always have a practical takeaway to use in my personal practice (life) and in practice with others. Thank you for paying attention, asking the tough questions, and remaining authentic, vulnerable, teachable. What a great role model and resource!

    A breath of gratitude
Shannon and Team, I love your podcast and The Connected Yoga Teacher FB group. I have learned so much valuable information which I incorporate in teaching my yoga classes. Most recently your podcast with Landen Stacy on “Closed Captioning for Online Yoga” was so informative with the tutorial slides. Without the episode I would not have none closed captioning was available on Zoom. My many thanks to you and Landen.

    Amazing
I’m so grateful I found this podcast. As a new teacher without a network, I feel more connected and capable after listening to Shannon and all her amazing guests. Shannon has so much information to offer as a host, she could probably produce podcasts just on her own knowledge. In addition to that, she strives to find diverse guests from all walks of life. These offerings are making the world of yoga more inclusive and open to all individuals and communities. Thanks for all your work Shannon!

    Garden inspiration
Hi Shannon, Today as I worked on the winter garden I listened to about 4 episodes of The Connected Yoga Teacher. Your topics are what I crave to hear and learn about, that makes it a perfect fit for gardening chores. May I say that your voice is beautiful, this is also an asset to your greatly appreciated and informative podcast. Please know that since I am slack about leaving you reviews( hello out there) it doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate the great content that you so generously put out in the world. It is my intention to take your yoga for pelvic health education. It has been on my intention list for too long. Hopefully it will happen in 2021. Great for Yoga Business Help
This is a must-listen podcast for yoga teachers. If you’re anything like me, you’re passionate about teaching yoga but clueless about the business side of things. Shannon has a ton of valuable information to share on that topic and many others.

Amazing info and such a great host!
I first started listening to The Connected Yoga Teacher podcast on a recommendation from a friend in my YTT. I did a great program but often feel that I still have sooo much to learn and unsure where to turn. Then I started listening to Shannon, wow!!! I felt heard and supported as a new teacher, filling in gaps or diving deeper into material in an accessible way. Clear, easy to listen to and refreshingly frank, this is an amazing podcast. Thank you sooo much, Shannon! You have created such an amazing and supportive podcast and Facebook community!

    This podcast is immensely informative
I think I started listening to Shannon after she was a guest on someone else’s podcast. She had such a calming voice, was extremely knowledgeable about everything she spoke of, and had a clear concise way of conveying information. I immediately went over to her podcast and binge listened. They are so well done. They have a great beginning, the guests are always treated well, she asks great questions, and always ends with a recap. She does these for us; For the yoga teachers. The episode notes are so concise that after each one I go and click on the links, re-listen what I need to, and usually go follow the guests she has! Now I am happy to say I am a member of the Connected yoga teacher, part of her Pelvic Health Specialists group and engage/learn/attend all she offers. She is extremely approachable and if she doesn’t have the answer she will get us the answer - usually in the form of an amazing expert guest! She is a HUGE resource in the yoga community it’s and we are so grateful to have her.

Shannon is great at asking useful questions and sharing valuable information. She invites many interesting guests who are experts in various fields to educate the Yoga community! Thank you for your time, effort and resources. Special thank you for coming out and helping yoga teachers to transition online and just being there for them during this challenging time! I highly recommend this podcast for a yoga or wellness professional!

    So informative
I love this podcast. I appreciate the down to earth vibe and practical information. If I’m doing a presentation or a workshop I can often find an episode that supports my subject matter. I have been a teacher for two decades and can always find something of value in the podcast.

Just what I’ve been looking for
I’m a brand new yoga teacher, who thankfully has over 10+ years of practice under my belt - and due to my geographic location, have opted to open a studio in my little mountain community. Naturally, I’m both excited & intimated by the prospect! I was extremely fortunate with my YTT program & my two amazing teachers, who taught me some of the newest concepts in individual anatomy & also instilled in me the goal of being a teacher that is more a guide in other’s personal practice, than an “instructor”. In my efforts to continue learning & growing, I’ve found that MANY of the principals taught still align with the older mentality of yoga. This is the best source for information that is expansive & evolving with new information. I love this podcast! Thank you for producing such fantastic content! It will help me in my own journey, as both a teacher and a yogi.

The podcast I wish I had 3 years ago!
I’m so grateful to have found this amazing resource for yoga professionals. I’ve just binge-listened to about 20 episodes and I can’t get enough! Every yoga teacher should be directed to this podcast after they complete their first training! Would have saved me a lot of time, money & stress 😂 Shannon is super direct, to the point and asks the practical questions. As well as being kind, funny & easy to listen to. I find with other podcasts you get a lot of big picture advice and Shannon asks her guests to give actionable steps to accomplish what they’re talking about. Thank you so much Shannon! Namaste 🙏

    #90 Baby and Me Yoga
Current students struggle to get to class becase there is a lack of childcare where I live and teach yoga. I began offering a class that parents could bring their non-school aged kids, and bend with them! So many of these podcasts episodes have been helpful to me, and I am grateful for this online support in my rural Wyoming space. Thank you Shannon for your insight on episode 90, which helped tons! Looking forward to hearing more of your podcasts!

    Awesome :)
I really love this podcast in general, but this episode (137) was amazing. I wish it had come out when I was working on recovering from my seizure and dealing with medication side effects. It has so much interesting information and perspective on concussion, TBI, and really all sorts of brain stuff. I’ve been a lurker who has listened to and loved every episode without reviewing (sorry!), but I really deeply connected to this episode. Thanks so much! Kat

I have thought about writing a review for a while and, to be frank, I didn’t think I had the right words to share. I didn't know how to thank Shannon for creating this space (via podcast and on FB), sharing incredibly valuable information, and facilitating so much inspiration. Her insight and the insight of her guests is invaluable. I love how I learn something unexpected on each episode. The podcast and FB group helps me, as an independant yoga teacher, to feel connected.
