Who are these people indeed? The discussion about the groom and Eugenie was also mind numbing in its stupidity.

I only listened to the first episode, and it was so bad that I won't be listening to any more episodes. All four hosts majorly screwed up a plot point (Playforth is Lister's groom as in "servant responsible for the feeding, exercising, and stabling of horses" not her bridegroom/fiancé/husband) and this total misunderstanding led to so much ridiculous speculation. It was embarassing to hear. On top of that, they totally mocked Eugenie's name, which I found not only ingorant, but uninformed. Will not be listing to more episdoes.

There's nothing more fun than feeling like you're part of a group having a good time. Well, maybe one thing: being part of a great group and discussing an awesome TV show! I love these ladies, and gent! I love the discussions! I love the Halifacts! and I love the HaliClad features. Wonderful stuff, amigos! Keep it up! I want more!

They can’t get the cast names right.

Absolutely inane - first of the mansplainer leading this podcast didn’t even understand a “groom” was a servant and NOT her groom. 🙄 Honestly do the tiniest bit of research before you do a podcast. Absolutely annoying this entire waste of noise!

Over all lack knowledge of the time period, get character names and relationships wrong. Lack insightful commentary.

George Playforth, Anne Lister’s groom wasn’t her husband but her man servant. A male servant that would have been charge of her luggage and horses. As a single woman of substance would’ve had at least 2, a female maidservant to help her dress and take care of her clothing and a male servant, called a groom, to take care of everything else. Anne would’ve not had sexual relationships with her servants, because of the class differences. She’s most likely attracted to women of her own class. In those days, women of Anne’s class wouldn’t mix with the serving class
