This show is right up there with STBYM! You guys make my trips a lot more interesting! Thanks!

    Best intro music
For anyone who doesn't know it has now re-merged with STBYM

    Hoping it comes back someday!

    So sad this ended
While not as good as stuff to blow your mind, this was a great podcast and really interesting. Sad it’s ended. I hope this means that stuff to blow your mind can keep going forever though.

    So sad this show died.
This show needs to be stand alone. I love the information and the details included in the podcast. However, I’m afraid that in the main channel STBYM (were this show got moved to) is going to push more of the left leaning world views onto the show. That’s my only gripe, I can’t seem to find many episodes were I get the information and story without a left leaning PSA. Thanks gentlemen for the great show! Hope you come back and visit!

    Fun and informative
This show provides loads of interesting information about the history of so many of the things we use each day. The style is laid back and fun with many welcome tangents providing much more infotainment than one might expect from a given episode’s title. It’s a pleasure to listen to. I’m especially a fan of the multi-episode deep dives into some of the inventions with longer histories and more iterations over time. It is a delightful exploration of human ingenuity and the creative thought process!

    Important to hear science now
Science is at the forefront of news these days. It is a pleasure to hear a scientificly based podcast, which offers fun while informing.

On my list of a few of my favorite things
So so sad to see this show go. As is natural for many people, I’ve always been curious about how various things came to be, or how they work. This show has indulged my curiosity and aligned well with my scientific interests. Look forward to continuing to hear about more inventions on “Stuff to Blow Your Mind”!

    Invented Words
    Cool show!

Man, this could be sooo interesting
But they just take the joy out of every topic. I’ve struggled through many episodes. I wish they would just give up and let another team fill this niche. I heart, this is such a great concept—just do it better.

    Entertaining and informative
This podcast is the best combination of entertainment and fun information

Really wanted to like this- they just banter back and forth about nonsense for the first fifteen minutes it’s nonsense.
  • Pegangel
This was so interesting and so fun. I thought I might skip it because it sounded silly.
    Au contraire! Except it’s 10 a m and I really want a mai tai.

    Good
First. Pretty good info. I’m a SYSK guy and never listened to Stuff to Blow Your Mindbut this does share the characteristic of being informative. Beyond that the hosts are quite different than Josh and Chuck. Imma be straight up with these dudes. I have had a lot of shifting views on this pod. For a long time I thought it was trying way too hard to be intellectual and just too much but for some reason I stuck with it. Now I am growing really fond of the philosophical musing. Yes some is a bit too much but I often find myself saying “hmm that’s interesting”. Bottom line I think they bring something different to the game and I like it.

Please stop playing for Ford Explorer ad!
I have literally heard it over 100 times. Please please go Toyota instead next time. The 4Runner is a true off road vehicle

    Love it
Interesting and entertaining. It sounds like they do their homework, and it’s nice to turn on a podcast that isn’t constantly full of f-bombs(sorry to other shows to are wayyy too limited with inside jokes and a swear fest). A really good getaway from the average.

One of the best podcasts out there
These guys are super entertaining and educational. As an engineer I am very interested in how things work and were created. Joe and Robert do a great job keeping tough subjects light and fun. Would recommend (and have recommended) 10/10 I have listened to every episode of invention and stuff to to blow your mind, no regrets.

    One and done
Dog episode: once they started talking about grilling and that they don’t eat steak they lost me. Grow a pair you, effeminate boys.
  • Kay Vea Oh
    Would recommend!
Just as good as their last podcast, Invention has the same wonderful chemistry and insight formed over the years between Robert and Joe that it is a blast to listen to.
  • Danermal
    Perfect
Thanks! How about the invention of numbers/math?

    Great podcast!!
I loooove this new podcast and stuff to blow your mind. I learn so much about ordinary things that are actually really fascinating if you look at their history. I listen to this podcast every night! Thank you so much for making this podcast! I have an invention that I’ve been wanting you two to talk about: the invention of languages/communication. For me this would be really interesting to listen to. Thanks for reading!
  • Mike Maillaro
I learn a lot from this podcast
They manage to get a ridiculous amount of information in each episode! The length is perfect, and I learn a lot from each episode
  • PedroMolina
    Interesting and thought provoking
The hosts describe some of the history behind some everyday things people may take for granted. I appreciate that they go off on tangents, as many of these discussions go down rabbit holes that inevitably bring up other topics for discussion. These extended conversations add to the flavor of the podcast, and they’re perfect to listen to while commuting or doing housework. Thanks for the pod

    Toooo looong!!!!
Like their first podcast, this is waaayyy too chatty. It takes forever to get to any point they’re trying to make. It could be done in 1/2 the time without losing any of the meaningful content. I really tried, but I’m out. Hasn’t anyone brought this point up before????

    Intelligent, funny, and entertaining
I love these guys on stuff to blow your mind, and they don’t disappoint with this awesome podcast. Similar in style, the banter is intelligent, and often hilarious. Most importantly, it’s fun to listen to and I feel like I’ve learned something at the end of the day.

    Love it
My favorite two podcasts are by these guys. I listen to every one of them. And I replay them. Actual intelligent conversation. Wonderful!!!!

    Good show
Good show about very interesting random things in life. Great listen to while working or sitting in traffic
  • poodlebot
    Interesting, conversational science show
This is a great show with a lot of interesting information. Being a How Stuff Works podcast, the format is informal and conversational like the popular Stuff You Should Know podcast, which I really enjoy. The hosts are great and the topics they cover are always interesting. If you've heard their other podcast, Stuff to Blow Your Mind, this is very much an extension of that. If you haven't, go check that one out too!
  • HiHiHipdx
    Great, Post It More
I love Stuff to Blow Your Mind, but this is even better. It’s amazing learning so much about simple items we hardly think of, but are so important. I only wish it was posted more often.
  • BrokenRunner84
Take the red pill of geekdom
These two find the amazing rabbit holes and dive in head first. The toilet episode is my favorite thus far.
  • Lofi Digital Monk
    Excellent show with great hosts.
A great alternative for SYSK with great hosts offering informative and wonderful information on a plethora of topics that most will find interesting!

    Going up?
Interesting subjects discussed on this podcast. I can’t wait for your episode(s) on elevators and escalators. -Paul

    Awesome show!
Hey guys! Love the show. I would like to make a suggestion, however, please introduce yourselves in the beginning of the episodes. There are many listeners who never listened to Stuff To Blow Your Mind and as a listener I feel a little disconnected. Can’t wait for the next episode!!
  • jlee_honeybee
Great work, please keep it up
Not sure what other reviewers are complaining about but, being a big fan of STBYM, I love this one as well because the hosts examine inventions that most people take for granted in modern life. There’s so much material that could be included on each topic, wish the pods were a little longer!
  • Hartm2012
    Guns
I really like your podcast but I’m really sick of everyone putting down guns. I’m a 3 gun ,precision rifle shooter and hunter. I think a lot of info gets lost in how the media portrays things and I wish you would take a better look at responsible gun owners and hunters instead of making comments about how the guillotine is better than an AK. There’s a lot more history to guns and shooting than you know. I stopped listening to several podcasts because of this. Please just open up a bit. Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t mean it’s bad or wrong.
  • East Bay Rider
Anti-toy gun rant by the host
Anti-toy gun rant by the host. One of the hosts went on a rant about the scary representations of killing machines (toy guns) available even today (Guillotine episode). Yawn - please dude. Keep your politics out of it.
  • drums4life24
    I love the show..
But that nasally nerdy trail off you do at the end of sentences... it kills me. It feels like your mad at me because of toothpaste. Constantly takes me out of the podcast and I’m what did I do to you man, I just want to learn!
  • Aydelott68
    It’s a good idea
I like the idea of the show but I find the topics a little well boring. I do not want to listen to a hour show about how toothpaste or a saxophone was invented. When we have developed so many amazing things as a species.
  • hiphoosuperstarx2
    Could be Great!
How Stuff Works ppl: it needs to get better, not worse. Sorry, guys. Pls get the whole channel back together. It’s falling apart. Not a dig not a praise, just want the content of the entire CONGLOMERATE 😎 to get back to its premise. It’s literally difficult to listen to some of the podcasts bc of bad “radio” voices (😂, grammar IS hilarious without context), and bad content. Y’all are becoming what you were trying not to be (I hope consumers who believed in what u were about weren’t duped, also 🤔). It’s like playin’ cards with my brothers’ kids. Pls, so few entertaining educational options for anyone these days. ❤️love 🥰🤩😎

Fun and enjoyable factoids and stories
The best parts of this podcasts are the way the two tell a story of an invention. Starting from what led to the invention, who made it, iterations or improvements, and finally the lasting effects. I love the back and forth. Joe. Please please bring back the Forward Thinking Podcast with Lauren and Jonathan!! (Been a huge fan since then) thanks guys!

    Great show Great host
Love this new series! This whole network is awesome!

    Fun but too long
Great content but you can really beat a dead horse with it. Unfortunately after about 30 minutes it just gets tedious.

I love this podcast! So much fun. Thanks Joe and Jason!
  • sportyspice11
    Not for me
I really wanted to love this podcast but it meanders too much and is just too conversational. Get to the point guys. Personal preference I guess.
  • Ganny 1946
Another great show from Rob & Joe!
I’m a big fan of Stuff To Blow Your Mind and this continues the tradition with an invention twist.
